My name is Christine Hargreaves and I love to create. In the mid nineties I decided to follow my instincts and began a Diploma of Visual Art at Chisholm Institute. It was a revelation for me, not just the new techniques and experiences but the opportunity to enjoy the company of like minded people. Painting, printmaking and photography became my passion. My main influences being strong colour and the landscape and how both evoke feelings and emotion.
I decided to develop my skills in 2006 and began a course in the Diploma of Illustration. It was a very demanding time, having continuous deadlines to adhere to and having to pay attention to every small detail. I found new ways to create art using drawing and Photoshop which have been so useful. My focus now is painting in Acrylics and watercolour, making illustrations and greeting cards. The materials I enjoy working with are acrylics, watercolour, Ink, pencil, Photoshop and Illustrator. What's important to me are my family, friends, the environment and gaining new experiences traveling. Recent News Two of my Cockatoo illustrations have been included in a book about Cockatoos published by Thames and Hudson, along with a selection of other artists and illustrators in Australia. My art is for sale in my Etsy shop http://bellablackbird.blogspot.com http://www.society6.com/bellablackbird |
